The-Source

Live Concert:

The Source Band is Wichita’s own party band that specializes in dance music ranging from Top 40, Motown, Disco, and Classic Rock. Now in their 20th year of performing The Source band’s eight members feature energetic vocalist, funky horns and a groovin’ rhythm section that will keep you dancing all night! The Source band was founded in 1996 by guitarist Rod Martens in a school band room in Wichita, KS where Rod taught band and orchestra.

With the goal of live music that people recognize and love to dance to, The Source was born and began the journey of entertaining for weddings, and restaurants, to corporate events and even performing for presidential candidates on the campaign trail.

Two other band members who are no stranger to school band rooms are bassist Zach Lorenson and drummer Kevin Findley who are both band directors in the Wichita area. James Isaac is the newest member of the group performing on keyboards, filling out the rhythm section. Galen Fast performs the tenor saxophone duties as well as playing a mean harmonica when the song calls for it whether its Tom Petty, The Romantics or Doobie Brothers. On trumpet originally from the Chicago area is Bill Rohde who plays all those high notes giving the songs a crisp edge just like it sounded in the era of all those great Motown horn bands. Amanda Hawkinson has been singing most of her life and started performing professionally with bands at age 16 and has now been with The Source for the last eight years. Amanda is a seasoned vocalist who is comfortable performing just about anything from Aretha’s Natural Woman to the hits on today’s Top 40 radio. Michael Webber is originally from Virginia and the Air Force brought him to Wichita KS where he now calls home. As a vocalist Michael began his career in gospel music and has now been performing with The Source band for twelve years.

Together the members of The Source have many years of music experience that they all love to share with audiences where they perform from Kansas to Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri and all across the Mid-West.
